Why should I use a home health agency for Homemaker services, instead of a cleaning service?

Assisted Services’ trained caregivers provide the light housekeeping you need as well as companionship and meal preparation. Our service extends beyond cleaning agencies. As well, if your needs increase Assisted Services provides Attendant Care and Nursing services.

Do you do background checks on your caregivers?

Absolutely! Our caregivers undergo complete background and reference checks. Caregivers also go through regular training.

Is Assisted Services a licensed home health agency?

Yes! Unlike companion care agencies, licensed agencies are required to follow requirements including: Kansas home health regulations, insurance requirements, background checks through KBI, available backup and support staff. If you have questions about our license requirements, please ask!

Does Assisted Services have insurance to cover theft or property damage?

Yes, although with complete background checks we hope this issue only arises in event of an accident.

What services are available?

Please see full descriptions of our services.

Can I meet my caregiver before services begin?

Yes. If desired you may meet your caregiver prior to starting service at no charge.

Will I have the same person each time?

Yes. However, substitutes will be sent in the event of illness, emergency or vacation.

Is there a charge to set up service or a minimum number of hours required for each visit?

There is no charge to set up services. Initially a case manager or nurse will come out to assess needs and set up a plan for services. Generally we require a two hour minimum visit, but services may be adjusted to meet individual client needs.

What if I am not satisfied with services?

We do our best to satisfy client needs, but if an issue arises, please contact our office so we can resolve it appropriately.

What paperwork is required at each visit?

Our caregivers fill out a complete time slip form that includes the services provided. The client is asked to sign the time slip once a week for verification. A copy of each caregiver’s time slip is left with the client.

What are the billing arrangements?

Our clients are sent monthly invoices for service. Invoices may be mailed to a family member or designee if desired. They may be paid to the office via check or credit card. We ask that caregivers are never paid directly or in cash to prevent confusion.

Will a supervisor do periodic visits in the home?

Yes. We want to assure that our client needs are being met and that our caregivers are providing the best service they can.
